From Praia da Barda to the village of O Roncudo, we have retraced an old fishing path that brings us to a spectacular coastline, the Tremosa’s Coast, named after the giant wave that forms in the shallows of the same name and which has recently become popular among big-wave surfers around the world.
This stretch is a real grind, so we recommend taking it very slowly. There is another, easier option that reaches the village of O Roncudo via the dirt track belonging to the wind turbines. However, O Camiño dos Faros always follows the path closest to the seafront. The trail leaves Praia da Barda and continues uphill, from which we can see this beautiful cove, which gets smaller and smaller.
We climb steadily for the first kilometer until we reach Punta Espiñeira, where we can stop to enjoy the views of the ocean, with A Arbosa and Nariga.
From there, we continue along the coast on an uneven path about 50 meters above sea level, admiring these wild cliffs that bring us closer to Punta do Castro.
Right in front of us, we can see the shallows of Tremosa, where, under certain weather conditions, this giant wave occurs.
We continue along Enseada da Grixoa and Punta das Eiras, which juts out into the sea and is sure to have some good barnacles like the rest of these rocks.
Upon reaching Punta Percebellosa, the path separates from the coast to ascend to the village of O Roncudo, which we reach after another spectacular stretch that was hidden from hiking.
