From the Praia do Lago road, we take the detour to the right that descends toward the river to discover a new landscape: A Furna do Sapo. The beginning of the section follows a path between pine forests and ferns, steadily descending to the riverbank.
At the bottom, the path closes in the middle of a forest…
… from which we can see the entire meander of the mouth of the Rio Grande.
A natural paradise in a very peaceful setting where some birds take advantage of it to feed.
We leave the forest and arrive at a small meadow where a stream flows into, finally reaching Praia de Area Grande.
