Fragas da Canteira is a rural guesthouse located in the village of Lires. Fragas da Canteira was built on the original rural guesthouse dating back to 1972. It opened its doors in the summer of 2019 with a completely renovated rural style. We have focused on quality service without sacrificing the warm, family-like atmosphere typical of rural houses in Galicia.
At Fragas da Canteira, stone on the exterior is combined with wood in the rooms, along with decorative details inspired by the views of the Lires estuary, Nemiña Beach, and the Atlantic Ocean.

It has nine rooms named after the cliffs where the quintessential seafood of the Costa da Morte is harvested: the barnacle. This is because barnacle harvesting and sea bass fishing have been the current owners’ previous occupations over the years, and the interior design is inspired by the sea.
