Hotel Balarés

The privileged natural setting in which we find ourselves, a historic rural village nestled in a special environmental protection area, ensures exclusivity, tranquility, and purity, ideal for a perfect break surrounded by nature. We are just a few meters from Balarés Beach, and all our spaces are open on all four sides to the surrounding natural landscape.

Around an old stone house and a granary, over a hundred years old, we have developed new spaces that are respectful of the surrounding environment. With a sustainable project, we have designed six apartments with warm, carefully decorated rooms, all the necessary amenities for a comfortable, independent stay, and all the services of a hotel so you can choose how you want to enjoy your vacation.

ACCOMMODATION

A Barda – 2-bedroom apartment ideal for a family of 2 adults and up to 2 children, with a bathroom and a living room/kitchen. Sea and forest views from all rooms. Double bed and 2 trundle beds. Wood-burning fireplace. Terrace.

Pedra da Serpe – Apartment ideal for 2 adults and up to 1 child (sofa bed). Double bed, sofa bed, bathroom, and living room/kitchen. Terrace. Views from all rooms. Wood-burning fireplace.

Monte Branco – Spacious apartment for 2 people with views. Double bed, living room/kitchen, and bathroom. Wood-burning fireplace. Terrace with barbecue and direct access to the garden.

A Tiñosa – Apartment for 2 people. Double bed, bathroom, and fully equipped living room/kitchen. Located on the first floor, accessed by stairs. No terrace. Sea views from the kitchen/living room.

A Furna – Double room with sea views. Bath/shower, single sofa, and in-room coffee service. Double bed. Located on the first floor, accessed by stairs.

The Setting – Immersed in the landscape where we sit, the view from each table in the dining room is picture-postcard, with the sea always on the horizon.

Spaces – An open kitchen next to our grandparents’ century-old hearth, a unique table in the kitchen, and a terrace with sea views that extend into the garden in summer.

Concept – A market-inspired menu based on local produce that Silvia designs according to the market, season, and inspiration.

Product – All our products are locally sourced and come to us directly from their producers, fishermen, and processors. We not only obtain unbeatable quality; We also contribute to a circular economy, which is key to the development of the rural environment in which we operate.

EXPERIENCES

Classic Van – In a 1974 Volkswagen, we’ll travel to discover the treasures hidden in our surroundings, its places and legends. Guided experiences with capacity for up to 8 passengers.

Kilometer Zero – Discover the authentic KM0 by traveling to local fish markets and markets to learn about the work of producers, artisans, and fishermen. Unique experiences that highlight the treasures of local cuisine.

BALARÉS

The village of Balarés is made up of only three inhabited houses. It is located in a beautiful valley that forms at the foot of Monte Blanco, opening onto Balarés Beach, which has a picnic area with barbecues, integrated into a lush, ancient pine forest.

The old dock houses the ruins of the old Titania mine, where wolfram was extracted and shipped to Germany for use in the manufacture of weapons for World War II.
