Casa Castiñeira (Buiturón)

Casa Castiñeira is a rural accommodation with over 200 years of history located in Buiturón, a village in the municipality of Muxía in the heart of the Costa da Morte.

Our rural accommodation is very close to one of the stages of the Camino de Santiago. Therefore, we offer pilgrims a pick-up service on the way or at the end of the stage by car, and we can drop them off the next day or whenever they wish. This way, they can relax and unwind from the hardships of the journey in a rural setting.

Dream of the sea like an enormous whale stranded on a small hill from where it watches over the fields and lets itself be enveloped in the mist of romantic sunrises. Its strong and secure walls still tell ancient stories, its expectant granary and the solitary cabin still await in warm silence the arrival of the fruits of the fields.

The Castiñeira family acquired the house and its surroundings in 1958 from a family who emigrated to Argentina, maintaining their farming situation with their “caseiros” for several years. When this family became independent, the house gradually fell into disrepair, until the brilliant idea of renovating it and subsequently converting it to rural tourism emerged, transforming it into a solid and peaceful accommodation in the heart of the Galician countryside.

In the recent renovation, the original structure was respected to preserve the 19th-century flavor combined with the comforts of today. Within its walls, you can enjoy the tranquility and the sound of nature at dawn.

The house has 9 bedrooms equipped with a bathroom, heating, a professional hairdryer, a 32″ flat-screen TV, and a side table.

The decor is dominated by wood and stone, providing solidity and intimacy, but modern materials are also present, making the rooms more inviting.

THE HOUSE CASA CASTIÑEIRA

The house, with traditional architecture adapted for maximum comfort, has facilities suitable for enjoying rural relaxation and pleasure. The stone walls and original wooden beams are notable construction elements.

The wood-burning fireplace, water well, and sink make up the pleasant living room, complete with a flat-screen TV, DVD, board games, and a seating area.

This room borders the dining room, where individual tables provide privacy.

It has a charming stone terrace from which you can admire the garden and farmland. Accompanying this terrace is a porch for relaxation and relaxation, perfect for cool evenings.

These warm spaces are complemented by a reading room on the upper floor, Wi-Fi, and heating.

A large garden with a playground, picnic area, and barbecue surrounds the house.

Free parking is located at the entrance of the house.

CABIN CASA CASTIÑEIRA

Casa Castiñeira has an apartment attached to the house for greater privacy. This apartment, called the Cabin, separate from the house itself, is in fact the old farmhouse cabin, restored with every comfort and convenience.

The master bedroom occupies the entire upper floor of the apartment, fully equipped with a bathroom with a hydromassage shower, professional hairdryer, heating, a television, and a coffee table.

The lower floor is occupied by the living room, providing a quiet area with a flat-screen TV, sofa, minibar, microwave, Wi-Fi, heating, and a pleasant wood-burning fireplace to complement the warm stay.

The cabin has a terrace for your use and enjoyment.

HOW TO GET THERE

– At Berdoias, turn right onto the AC-440 road toward Muxía.
– Upon reaching Os Muiños, there is a pharmacy, where you should turn left onto the LC-2303 road toward Cee.
– We will pass through the villages in the area and after 9 km we will reach Sinagoga, where we will take the fork on the right where the yellow house is located, and after 1 km we will find Casa Castiñeira.
